About Classic Revival

Why, you may ask, is our focus on reviving classic films for theatre?

Well, having already directed plays like Dial M fo Murder, Blite Spirit, in 1993, Pegeen suggested to Troppo a company she had co-founded that 12 Angry Men would be a good play to do but at that time Troppo did not want to do an all male play, so without any falling out, she and Yvonne decided to form Classic Revival and hence continued to do old films seldom seen on the stage.

12 Angry Men did the festival circuit and arrived at the All Ireland Finals having won four festivals and many awards on the way, where the whole 13 of the cast - Guard included - won the Best Supporting Actor award for the lot of them. We then went on to do one for the girls, Steel Magnolias and made it to Athlone again.

You can read from our list of productions where we went from then and where we are hoping to go from here. At the moment and through a circuitous route which took in the National Spinal Injuries Unit Mater Hospital, we are hoping to present Autumn Fire by T.C. Murray - which for those who remember the good old Abbey days - was a Classic in its own right. Hopefully in November - we will keep you well informed.

Director,
Pegeen Coleman
